Judicial Service Commission Executive Secretary receives JUSUN Executives .
Judiciary workers have been called upon to redouble their efforts for greater productivity. The Executive Secretary of Imo State Judicial Service Commission, Jennifer Uju Nwosu Esq. (AICMC, JP), who made the call when the Executive Members of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) Imo State chapter, paid her a courtesy visit in her office, enjoined them to show greater commitment and dedication to their duties for enhanced productivity. Barr Nwosu expressed appreciation for the visit as well as the cordial way the JUSUN and the Commission had worked without rancor and maintained that 'a collaborative effort of the union and the Commission is required to move the Judiciary to greater height'.
She urged them to continue in the spirit of being more alive to their responsibilities, and charged them to always work as a team. The Secretary reiterated the need for Judiciary workers to reposition themselves to embrace the good works of the State Government and gave the assurances that the issue of Staff welfare would be given the attention it deserves, pointing out that 'all the grey areas raised would be promptly addressed'. Barr Nwosu counseled them to see leadership as a responsibility, emphasizing that honesty and integrity should be their watchword. She encouraged JUSUN Executive to sustain their worthwhile efforts; assuring them of the co-operation and support of the Commission.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of JUSUN; Comrade Ernest Nnanabu who led the team, explained that the essence of the visit was to congratulate and identify with the Executive Secretary on her meritorious appointment.
He commended Barr Nwosu for her numerous achievements in the Commission and the Judiciary at large, and urged her 'to keep the flag flying'. Comrade Nnanabu called for mutual symbiotic relationship between the Judicial Service Commission and JUSUN in achieving a greater welfare packages for Judiciary workers.
The Chairman expressed appreciation to the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for the payment of half of the three months arrears of salary owed Judiciary workers since 2016 by the previous administration, and humbly appealed for the complete payment of the remaining half. He also appealed to the State Government to consider the release of the 2021 Christmas (13th month) bonus to the Judicial Service Commission which is still outstanding. While soliciting for the assistance of the Executive Secretary to communicate their request to the appropriate quarters, he prayed God to continue to grant her the wisdom 'to steer the ship aright'.
